-The De La Hoya and Chavez fight was entertaining but not surprising. De La hoya was just to young and strong for Chavez. Chavez put up a good fight nailing De la Hoya with Solid Rights. The thing that I thought would never happen was seeing him give up.

-The most surprising fight of the year up to this time was Erik Morales and Junior Jones. Morales practically tore Jone's fucking head off and ended the fight in the fourth round. This was surprising since Jones defeated Marco Antonio Barrera who I though was almost invisible until his defeat.

-De La Hoya's defense against Ike Quartey may be one of the best fights of the year. Al Bernstein was talking some shit about Oscar de la Hoya's performance as not being " brilliant", this so called boxing analyst is forgetting that Ike Quartey is one of t he best in his division and that even De La Hoya or anyone else is not going to look that good against him. For the first half of the fight Quartey was leading in the scorecards. However , near the end De La Hoya nailed Quartey with a left to the chin and knocked him down. The best round was the twelve were De La Hoya delivered about twenty shots to the head that were not answered by Quartey. This round is where he showed his dominance over Quartey who was giving a smart-ass grin until it was erased by Oscar's punches.

-Another brilliant performance was by Erik "El Terrible Morales" who fought against la abispa and literaly demolished him in two rounds. This was a dramatic knock down and made his opponent fall out the ring. Erik Morales is the best prospect Mexico has at this time.

- Felix Trinad made a brilliant performance in defeating Pernell Whitaker. His victory was the biggest beating Pernell has ever revieved and he even got his jaw broken. This spells trouble for De La Hoya, if he wants to win he better start training.
